Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex

Well worth the visit, its a great drive through a lovely landscape to reach the complex. On entering the road directly leading to the deep space network its pretty amazing to see the large white telescopes amongst the rolling green hills.
Unfortunately you can't enter the main complex itself but there is a building to visit which houses a very interesting exhibition of space paraphernalia, videos, images and fascinating information etc and the Moonrock cafe which has a fairly standard variety of underwhelming food (burgers, soup, hotdogs etc) at inflated prices, as well as a very random gift shop.
Ideally, visiting the Deep Space Network would best be done as part of a 70/80km day trip loop from Canberra. Check the Deep Space website for details - Tourist drive 5. Its a great drive through beautiful landscape.
